At least Palestinians are a people, they never had a state, but they aren't an ideological construct like the Jews. These aren't an ethnicity, a religion, a culture or a state. Never have been, even before the Romans came, they were tribes, nothing more. All that's lost to the sands of time, but they cling to some sort of identity trough isolation and genealogical trees. That's made them an easy target over a long period of time and all over the world, but for the past 150 years, it has equally been taken advantage of by some people inside their own community. BTW, is that an Spanish song? Argentinian. Here is a link to Nana Mouskouri singing it.
Mireille. It is not the same song, but Mireille... Just enjoy.

I hate that guy, luckily the link doesn't work for me
And I also prefer women singing, but if I think of Spanish songs, I usually think of guys (not Julio).

Give me some links. When I am in a "kafana", ordering songs "for my soul", I prefer men singing. They sing with much more emotions.

Doesn't sound like a guy ;-)
PS: if women are accepted, there's a few more.

1, 3, 5, 8. In general, I seem to prefer what seems to me as "real" Spanish songs.

Can't say I approve on that choice. I'd rather go with Ana Torroja, Luz Casal, Amaia Montero, Ana Belén. For music, that is.

A little on the folklore side for my taste. BTW, I didn't include any women among my picks.

A little on the folklore side for my taste. BTW, I didn't include any women among my picks. Indeed. I noticed it, and, in general, I approve misogyny. It is a sane feeling, and understanding that women are only made for the warrior's rest is the beginning of wisdom, and, therefore, philosophy.
The folklore side is what I like in Spanish and latino music, what makes it specific and different. Anyway, this song was chosen by my daughter.
