Komodo is the only commercial engine being actively developed. Looking at TCEC dev submissions, we can't expect Houdini to be in that category, and the rest of the engines are simply too far behind to be of any real use for centaur play.
In recent years, their subscription plan has been a good deal, for anyone wanting to be up to date, but more recently, that was called into question.Because there's no other place to check the release dates of past versions (the new Komodo page at ChessProgrammingWIKI is still empty), I decided to compile the data here:
Please note, that despite new releases being speed up this year, the Elo gain since Komodo 11.2 is virtually none (too small to measure at CCRL 40/40 TC). The focus of recent updates, has been on the MCTS feature. This last part is still true for the latest update, if we believe Larry's announcement.
